Alrosa Mirny :: The Tupolev took skies again

Izhma Airport, March 24, 2011 – On 7 September 2010, Alrosa Mirny Air Enterprise Flight 514, operated by Tupolev Tu-154M RA-85684 suffered a complete in-flight electrical failure. A successful emergency landing was made at the closed Izhma Airport but the aircraft overran the overgrown runway and was substantially damaged. All 81 people on board survived. The aircraft was on a domestic scheduled passenger flight from Polyarny Airport, Udachny to Domodedovo International Airport,Moscow.

RA-85684 flown by test pilots of Tupolev took the skies again on Mar 24th 2011 departing from Izhma with 11 tons of fuel on board using a takeoff distance of 800 meters/2600 feet, flew a circuit at low level over Izhma and continued to Ukhta for a safe landing. The gear was not retracted during the flight as planned. The airplane was further flown to Samara where final repairs will be made before the airplane returns to service with Alrosa Mirny.

Buy airline tickets for both carriers using Copa’s Panama and Copa Colombia’s Bogota HUB and DAE’s Curacao hub

Check in bags through the hubs from one destination to the other without having to pick them up and checking them in from one airline to the other

Make reservation on Copa flights at or DAE flights using when the passengers have to use both carriers on the same itinerary.

Copa Airlines is based in Panama and was founded in 1947 as the national airline of Panama. It’s a leading Latin American provider of airline passenger and cargo service through our two principal operating subsidiaries, Copa and AeroRepública. Copa Airlines operates from its strategically located position in the Republic of Panama, and AeroRepública provides service primarily within Colombia complemented by international flights from various cities in Colombia to Panama City, Caracas and Quito. DAE Airlines Operates 2 flights weekly to Panama, Bogota which connects into Copa’s hubs.

Azul :: Promoting FEMAMA

David Neeleman’s (former jetBlue CEO) founded Brazilian airline Azul (Blue) is operating one of its ATR 72s in a special pink scheme for the promotion of FEMAMA, a Brazilian non-profit organization dedicated to fighting the disease of breast cancer. Breast cancer is a disease which can affect both, women and, though less, men.
